Field guide

Item details

How to obtain

  • Crafted from one iron ingot placed directly above three stone blocks in a crafting table. Source
  • Generates naturally in village stone mason workshops. Source

Practical uses

  • Cuts stone, deepslate, granite, diorite, andesite, tuff, and quartz into stairs, slabs, walls, and bricks. Source
  • Crafts 1 stair per 1 block (significantly more efficient than crafting tables which require 6 blocks for 4 stairs). Source

Mechanics

  • Bypasses multi-step crafting trees, allowing direct cutting of raw stone into chiseled stone bricks; job block for masons. Source
